Who's behind it
I'm Sebastián Carballo. An electrical technician with a background in industrial electronics. I've spent my whole life solving technical problems — first in Argentina, now in Spain.
I modified audio and television systems at Philips Argentina. I took part in installing the voting system for the Buenos Aires City Legislature. And for the last 15 years I've worked in event sound — a field I know well and that's still part of me: I practise the guitar every day.
Corriente is how I work: a workshop that moves, with the tools inside, that comes to your home instead of waiting for you to come to a shop.
A good part of what I do is inheriting botched jobs — sloppy splices, careless connections, quick-fix patches that hold until one day they don't. I don't mind finding them: I'd rather see them and redo them than put another patch on top.
I'm not a handyman who improvises. I'm a technician who understands what's going on inside. That's why, when I repair something, I really repair it.
Method
If it's not worth repairing, I'll tell you. I won't sell you what you don't need.
If we agree on a time, I'm there at that time. Your time matters too.
I leave the place as I found it. Good work shows in the tidiness.
I tell you the cost before I start. No surprises on the bill.

Sebastián is methodical and rigorous. We went over the Spanish regulations together — they differ slightly from those of his home country — to make improvements and extensions to our old house, which had an outdated electrical system. That takes not only rigour but also creativity, to get past obstacles and fix earlier botched jobs. At that he's a genius. You can be sure the work is finished to a high standard, and you see it progress step by step without anything ever stopping working. A perfect 10!
At the property, Sebastián's work was all about the electrics. He completed the outstanding outdoor lighting projects to an excellent standard, cleverly using materials he'd had for years. He was always frank with me whenever something wasn't clear to him, which prevented any mistakes. He works slowly, yes — but that's down to his thoroughness and his drive to get the best possible result, rather than taking shortcuts.
We loved having Sebastián in our home. He's a calm, patient, meticulous and discreet person, very pleasant. He helped us strip the wallpaper, fill the holes in the ceiling, and bring back to life the guitar, the bass and the amplifier that had been stored away for years.
